Mandarin Speech & Drama

The objective of the Mandarin Speech & Drama Programme is to build confidence and verbal communication skills in the language. The programme is suitable for all children of diverse cultural background while native speakers will be able to use the opportunity to enhance their communication skills.

The goals of the programme include proper pronunciation, correct intonation and confident voice projection. To achieve these goals, children will participate in interactive story telling led by the trainer. Children will be encouraged to respond confidently to questions and cues. Children will recite a “phrase of the week” after each story. Programme for each term is designed to be age appropriate for each child’s progressive learning. Our experiences indicate that this programme has been beneficial in further instilling confidence in the spoken Mandarin Language among children. Regular and consistent exposure to the language has significant positive influence on a child’s Mandarin Language communication skills.

Abacus
Abacus is an effective arithmetic method that increases mental dexterity, helping children to think and manipulate numbers and groups of numbers. The methodology instills a fundamental mental focus and discipline needed to tackle mathematical questions.

Trainer will be able to assess and match each child’s learning progress in order that an appropriate level is selected accordingly, allowing each child to learn and progress at his/her own pace.

Programme in each term aims to move each child to the next level of arithmetic competency.

Kindermusik
Music nurtures a child’s cognitive, emotional, social, language and physical development, excites your child's imagination and creativity. It creates a learning environment that integrates music, expressive language, peer interaction and pretend play. It challenges your child through activities that promote problem-solving, making choices and expressing ideas. It also allows your child to have an active role in the development of music and movement activities. Music-making and music listening activities develop self-discipline, as well as critical and creative thinking skills.

GymKidz
The programme provides the environment and experience for the child to enhance their axial, balance, coordination, loco-motor, manipulative, postural and strength motor skills through fun and challenging activities on purpose-built child-appropriate equipment.

Jitterbugs
Hip Hop dance has become the most widely popular style amongst kids today. Both boys and girls are signing up for dance classes thanks to singing stars like Justin Timberlake and Beyonce. Fun moves at an energetic pace keeps them engaged and the satisfaction of building up a sequence of steps keeps them going!

Hip Hop classes help children learn about teamwork while building coordination and keeping fit. Popular music that we hear on the radio adds to the attraction of this dance and TV shows (Hanna Montana) and movies (High School Musical) give Hip Hop street credibility and the “cool” factor.

Japanese
The programme is designed for non-Japanese children. Children will be exposed to the spoken Japanese language and engage in Japanese Language Arts. Themes change every month per term, where new vocabularies and simple sentences will be introduced.
