Purpose of Education
To understand the purpose of education, we must go beyond the understanding of the acquisition of facts and techniques. The purpose of education cannot be to lock our children into one mold of skill sets and tools by which he expresses his individuality in the field of his choice.
We must treasure his individuality.

Our educational system must therefore take into cognizance the fact that no two individuals are the same. Our goal must therefore be to develop the whole child. What does this mean? Does this mean surrounding our child with measurable quantitative knowledge of languages, mathematics, science, and social skills?  Yes, but it must also encompass building a firm foundation in values for pursuit of academic excellence, to lead both teacher and student alike in grace and respect, recognizing the unlimited potential in each and every individual.

To quote from Mae Carden “The purpose of education is not to raise spectators. Not to perform is to be a spectator. To become a spectator is to be robbed of all the experience of creation and all normal emotional outlets. A spectator has to be constantly entertained from within, and so loses his peace of mind that comes from thinking from the inside out. He loses this step of development that gives freedom of expression”.
